London is being one of the most popular places for study, especially for international students. Studying abroad is a challenging experience regarding culture, environment and day today activities but international students’ adviser will provide you necessary information and support to ease the situation. LTC provides the following services:

• Airport pick up service
• Pre- seasonal programme provides students an opportunity to settle in, make friends and improve their academic English.
• Induction programme
• Social activities
• Information about travel

Terms and Conditions

Students:
The minimum age is 18 years old and there is no maximum age limit. Your place on any of the international full time programmes will only be guaranteed once 1 year fees has been paid

Application:
Application should be made on the enclosed application form and send it to the international office at the college address with non refundable application fee £300.00

Payments:

Payment can be made by cheque, bank draft or credit card, payable to LTC. Currency prices are given in pound sterling and payment should be made in this currency. Bank charges are not covered by LTC. Click here for Bank Details

Cancellations:
Cancellation will be accepted 6-8 weeks prior to the start of the course. In this case, LTC will refund the paid fees minus administrative charge. For cancellation less than 6-8 weeks prior to the course commencement date, no refund will be made under any circumstances. We recommend you to take our insurance to cover cancellation or early termination due to medical reason, accident or any other reasons. The current cost of this insurance is £50 per term and must be paid along with your deposit. If student visa is refused by the UK High Commission LTC will refund the full amount received in pound sterling on submission of the refusal letter and original letter to the college after deducting administrative charge of £300.

Fees:
Fees are reviewed every year but subject to change at any time.
Expulsion/Disciplinary: LTC reserves the right to expel any students for constant violation of rules and regulation or for drug use or vandalism.


Activities:
LTC will not be held responsible for any extra curriculum activities undertaken by students out of the school hours and premises.
Notes: LTC reserves the right to alter dates, fees, and curriculum or class hours without prior notice.

Support services

Accommodation
LTC helps students finding suitable accommodation if needed. If you have applied for a full time course, you will receive accommodation information with instructions. If you have any special requirements, you should write direct to LTC management stating your preferences. You may choose from the following types of accommodation:

• Home stay
• Self-catering in a family home
• Renting a house or flat/room share

Student advice and counseling service:
Student adviser will provide confidential but professional services throughout the year regarding life in London, housing, immigration and other academic plus personal matters. Counselling provides you time and opportunity to talk to someone about any issues in your life. It allows you to focus on difficulties which may be interfering in your personal and academic development.

Career and placement services:
Once you enrolled with LTC, you can have impartial and confidential advice from our placement coordinator on wide range of issues such as career advice, career planning, and assessment and selection technique. Furthermore, the coordinator can help you to find industrial placement.


Admission Process
Non-EU Nationals applying to study at London Thames College from outside the UK are required to obtain entry clearance prior to their travelling to the UK and follow the following procedures:
 
How to Apply
Step 1: Fill in the college enrolment form and send it along with the documents listed below to London Thames College through e-mail scan on admission@ltcollege.co.uk or post it to the college admission team at London Thames College, Crown House, North Circular Road, Park Royal, NW10 7PN.
  • Transcript of your previous education
  • TOEFL or IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent for Diploma level and 6.0 and above for PGD level.
  • Work experience certificate if applicable
  • 2 passport size photographs
  • Copy of your valid passport
  • Evidence of financial capability


 
Upon receipt of the required documents along with the completed application form, the college will assess the documents and student may be interviewed. The interview can be in person, telephone or by using web-conferencing such as Skype. The college may ask any additional information or documents if required.
 

Step 2: Conditional Letter of Acceptance
If your application is successful and place is available on the requested course, we will send you a Conditional Letter of Acceptance specifying the condition such as payment of the course fees or any other relevant information or documents to submit prior to confirming your place.
Please note that this Conditional Letter of Acceptance cannot be used for Visa application. If the deposit is not paid on time, the course place will no longer be guaranteed.Click here for Bank Details

 

Step 3: Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)
Upon receipt of the required documents and tuition fees the college will issue Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) and send it to the student. Student need to show this document while applying for visa.

 

Step 4: Applying for Visa
Non-EU Nationals applying for entry clearance from outside the UK should apply in local British Embassy/High Commission prior to travelling to the UK. Please visit at http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply/infs/inf29pbsstudent/content for further information. This may involve an interview by an Entry Clearance Officer assessing the following:

  • Completed visa Application form
  • Your Passport
  • Your Academic Qualification documents
  • TOEFL IELTS Certificate
  • Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)
  • Original bank statements (or a Loan approval letter) in your own name (not parents or others) from a recognised Bank
 

Note that any false or forged documents found by the UK Embassy or High Commission staff will result in a 10 year ban from reapplying to enter in the UK. It may also result in a criminal conviction.

 
Pre-Departure Checklist for student
  1. Valid Passport
  2. Valid UK Visa (Student)
  3. Air tickets
  4. College confirmation of a place and start date
  5. Verified / Assessed certificates or qualifications
  6. Details of course subjects (aims, objectives, syllabus and date of examination)
  7. Proof of financial capability
  8. Medical certificates (i.e. TB Certificate)
  9. UK currencies and/or traveller cheque
  10. Accommodation address
  11. Name and contact details of a person receiving you at the airport or port of entry.
 
Refund Policy
In the event of a Visa refusal
  • Where students pay part or full tuition fee in order to obtain sponsorship (enrolment documentation) and their visa is declined, the College will refund the paid tuition fees after deducting administrative charge of £300.00 upon receipt of a copy of a refusal letter and original letter issued from the college.
  • Refund requests along with the documents mentioned above must be submitted to the college within two weeks of the refusal notice date.
  • Refunds will NOT be considered if the documentation used in the visa application has been deemed to be false in anyway such as incorrect documentary evidence and financial discrepancies or the documents put forward to the college in order to gain sponsorship have been deemed to be deceptive and unverifiable.
  • If the College is not informed of the refusal within the given time, one semester’s fee will be deducted from paid fee
  • No interest, charges or currency exchange rate will be paid on a refund of any deposit.
 
In the event of Visa approval

If the student obtained visa and is not willing to attend the course / college, the deposited fee is non refundable and non transferable in any circumstances.


Withdrawal before a Visa decision

Refunds will NOT be given under any circumstances if students decided to withdraw application prior to receiving decision of the visa application from British High Commission/Embassy except on family and serious health problem. Candidates’ status with the college will be reported immediately to the Home Office/ UK Border Agency and local British High Commission/ Embassy

 

NOTE:

  • The initial application fee is non-refundable.
  • The College reserves the right to change or amend its refund procedures at its discretion
  • The College reserves the right to withdraw advertised courses for which insufficient number of students has enrolled
    and to close any class if low attendance makes it no longer viable.
  • No interest or costs are claimable upon any refund payments.
  • The College will not be liable for any refund of paid tuition fees if courses are discontinued, amended or cancelled
    due to reasons pertaining to the external examining body associated with or responsible for the course
  • Refunds will not be made to a third party unless we have received explicit authorisation from the applicant to do so.
    This should be in the form of a signed hard-copy letter from the applicant specifically authorising us to refund their
    fees to a named third party. This condition applies regardless of the source of the original fee payment.
  • Refunds will not be made when a student has been suspended or expelled for violation of any part of this contract or decides to withdraw from the college after commencement of their classes.
  • Students who knowingly provide misleading information to the college / government agencies including the
    immigration, or try to use fraudulent means to obtain immigration favours, and as a result have their visa applications refused will not be granted any refunds and will be subject to pay the college tuition fee in full for the academic year
    they have enrolled for.
  • Students who have been refused visas for knowingly non-compliance with either the college policies or violations of previous visas granted to them will not be granted any refunds and will be subject to pay the college fee in full or the academic year they have enrolled for.
  • All refunds are made between 6-8 weeks of receipt of a refund application form and the required documents.
  • Some refunds may take longer depending on the nature of individual applications and College policies.
  • Refund applications made after two weeks of the immigration application being refused will not be honoured, unless the student has evidence to show that they were appealing against the decision.
  • Once refunds are made the applicant loses all rights against the college including usage of the college name to gain favours
  • Students must attend all lectures as scheduled. The college has a duty to inform the immigration officials where a
    student who has gained leave to enter or remain in the UK has failed to attend class without legitimate reasons.
    A medical certificate from a doctor must submit to support the absence due to illness.
  • Students who have gained immigration favours in the name of the college will not be allowed to transfer to another institution or change their immigration status without legitimate reason(s) before the end of their academic year otherwise the full tuition fee will be charged.
